Location
The Lake Thun area begins in the west on the border of the Bernese Mittelland, in the Aare Valley at the gates of the historical „capital city“ of the Bernese Oberland – Thun. In the east the area stretches as far as Interlaken, the second famous town in the Bernese Oberland. The region is framed by picturesque villages along and above the lake and also by some of the most magnificent view points in Switzerland - Niederhorn, Niesen and Stockhorn – to mention only those which are accessible by transport.

The Lake Thun region is beautifully situated and the panoramic views from here are equally glorious: to the west the mountains of the Jura are visible, to the north the Black Forest can be seen, and to the south the famous trio of Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau dominate.
