Watch the deer rut in the Justistal valley

Experience a fascinating wildlife spectacle in the Justistal valley. Every year in autumn, most of the region’s deer migrate to the Justistal valley between the villages of Sigriswil and Beatenberg to take part in the rut.
Accompanied by a local wildlife expert, you get a chance to observe this unique natural spectacle. And with a little luck, you’ll catch a glimpse of the herd, belling bucks or even a fight between two stags for the favour of the females.

Further information

  • 18.00 hrs meet at the Grön car park at the entrance to the Justistal valley between Sigriswil and Beatenberg (travel to be organized independently), watching the deer rut and warm snack, return to Grön car park at 22.00 hrs latest

  • Appropriate, sturdy footwear, weather-proof, warm clothing, binoculars and camera. Some binoculars will be available for use
