A knightly tour

From castle to castle – a knightly tour

The castles of Thun, Oberhofen and Spiez are inviting children and adults to get to know the world of the Middle Ages.

Become a knight!

Children and families who are feeling like getting to know the knighthood playfully and in a historical ambiance will have fun with this program which is unique in the Kanton of Berne.

The concept is a three-step instruction starting with the page, going on to become a miner and finishing with the knight after the medieval tradition. There are at least two castles to visit to finish the program. Every castle has got suitable clothing and equipment ready to start the fascinating challenge to learn to deal with armament for fights and tournaments such as the courtly manners, dancing and minnesongs.

Parents and companions will be involved in the program as audience or jury and will let the instruction become an unforgettable experience.

The activities suit well for boys and girls between 6 and 12 years old.

Info
The knight’s pass is available at every of the three Lake Thun castles from 15th May to 16th October 2011 and costs CHF 10.00 for a child for the whole three-step program.

Companions and parents will pay the regular entrance fee to the castle (museum pass welcome).
