At the gateway to the Bernese Alps is Thun, the tenth largest city in Switzerland. The old town is intact and has splendid building and squares and towering above it is the impressive Zähringer Castle.

Spend an enjoyable warm summer evening at the open-air cinema or at the Thun Festival (every two years with the Lake Thun Festival) or at a musical on the Lake Thun stage or when it gets a little cooler there are numerous concerts, plays and exhibitions. Enjoy a visit to one of the museums or opt for one of countless excursions. And there is a great choice of nightlife too.
If you are looking for more action, there are numerous watersports to choose from; from sailing to wind-surfing and scuba diving, there is no limit to the possibilities.
