A day trip unlike any other: Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe

A trip to Europe’s highest train station is a highlight of any visit to the Holiday Region Interlaken. Delve into a high alpine world of snow and glaciers on the Jungfraujoch – Top of Europe. The train journey from Interlaken Ost takes just under two hours and promises a bewitching panorama and jaw-dropping stops at Eigerwand and Eismeer stations. During the winter months, the trip is even more spectacular. The line runs past the foot of Switzerland’s famous triumvirate and through the snow-covered winter paradise of the Jungfrau region. Pay a visit to the ice palace and then make your way to the Sphinx Observation Deck to take in the imposing, timeless ice of the mighty Aletsch glacier, part of the UNESCO Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch World Heritage Site.

The ascent from Stechelberg is made by cable car. On the Schilthorn – Piz Gloria you will be greeted by an impressive 360° panorama over the Swiss Alps. Experience a winter wonderland on the lake and atop the Stockhorn

Experience the charm and soothing silence of the Stockhorn’s romantic winter snows. The Stockhorn is famous for its incomparable view that encompasses over 200 alpine peaks. A rock gallery at the summit station brings you directly to the panoramic viewing platform in the Stockhorn’s north face. From here, the views down to the town of Thun and the lake, across the Aare and Gürbe valleys and beyond the Central Plateau to Jura are simply stunning. The Panorama Restaurant satisfies your culinary needs as you indulge and warm yourself on the sun terrace. In the heart of this natural idyll, close to “Chrindi” midway station, you will find an Igloo Village complete with bar and comfortable loungers.
