This hike takes you from Beatenberg Station through an unlit tunnel (bring a headlamp) to Spycherberg. Slightly above, near Püfelberg, the very steep Bear Trail starts on the right side.

Note that the signpost here lies on the ground and is therefore easy to overlook. The path winds its way up along the only possible gap of the long Grƶnfluh towards Niederhorn. For sure-footed hikers, this path is an enjoyable ascent to the ridge of Niederhorn under good conditions. Colored flowers bloom everywhere, ibex suddenly stand beside the path, and the breathtaking Justistal offers you an impressive view. From time to time, also take a look at the rocks above you to watch for more chamois or ibex. Observing these animals in their natural environment is fascinating on one hand but also involves dangers due to potential rockfalls.
