Spiez and the surrounding area can best be explored by e-bike over bridges and side roads.

The route leads from Spiez train station towards Thun to the first roundabout, where you turn left and follow the road to the gas station just before the motorway entrance. There, turn right toward Lattigen, Gesigen. The route takes you along the Spiez reservoir to the Gesigen shooting range and further through a motorway underpass. Then you ride on a natural road along the motorway. Soon you cross the Kander on the first spectacular bridge (Hani bridge). Then continue on the main road towards Wimmis. In Reutigen you cross the Simme on a beautiful wooden bridge. The route back to Spiez winds through open terrain and along the Kander towards Mülenen. You pass the Kander again on a bridge. On your way back towards Spiez, you go through respectable residential areas and side streets in Spiezwiler to the Niesen bridge and from there back to Spiez train station.

Detailed description:

The route leads from Spiez train station along Bahnhofstrasse towards Thun, at the first roundabout leaving Spiez turn left and ride through the railway underpass towards the motorway entrance. After the gas station turn right towards Lattigen, Gesigen along the Spiez reservoir to the Gesigen shooting range. After about 200 m turn left, ride through the motorway underpass and then on the unpaved road along the motorway. Then cross the Kander on the first spectacular bridge, the Hani bridge. After the bridge, turn sharp left and then ride on the main road towards Wimmis. Behind the Kampf restaurant in Reutigen, turn left onto the cycle lane along the main road and cross the Simme on the beautiful wooden bridge. After the bridge, continue on Niesenstrasse, go under the motorway and then turn left onto the main road towards Spiez, then immediately turn right into Mattenstrasse at the first opportunity. The route then goes through open terrain and along the Kander towards Mülenen. After about 3 km, turn left and cross the Kander a second time. Then turn into the old Frutigen road. Here you continue towards Spiez. In Spiezwiler, after the pedestrian overpass, turn right into Faulenbachweg and pass through residential areas to Hondrichstrasse. Then turn left again and ride to Krattigenstrasse, then turn left, cross the Niesen bridge and continue towards Spiez train station.
