From the Bönigen tourism office, walk along Lake Brienz towards Iseltwald. Before the Bönigen forester's house, turn right towards Erschwandenbach and continue uphill on a narrow forest path to the waterfall. To continue the circular route, walk back a little and follow the signs for "Scholauenen" and "Stockere". Then continue towards Bannwald to the Houetenbach, where you cross the stream bed. Usually, little or no water flows through the stream bed. Then follow the path through the forest towards Oberallmi, where you will find a barbecue area. The grill site is perfect for a break with a magnificent view of Bönigen and the "Bödeli" including the municipalities of Interlaken, Matten, and Unterseen. Then continue to Ankeweidli and Bömberge. From there, a path leads down to Acherhubel, where there is a farm with a farm shop. Passing the "Chrottegräbli", a restored small stream providing a home for many animals, you walk back to Bönigen.
