The 15th stage of the Switzerland crossing from Basel to Mont Blanc leads from Chalet du Soldat to Feutersoey near Gstaad. Highlights include the Wolfsort pass crossing and a stop at the Grubenberghütte.

After the dramatic mountain backdrop of the Gastlosen in the morning, the wide valley floor around Gstaad presents itself in the afternoon from a much more gentle side. After the short ascent to the Wolfsort between the saddle peaks and the Wandflue follows a very beautiful high trail to the Grubenberghütte of the Oldenhorn Alpine Club section. Unfortunately, it is then no longer "beautiful" for a longer time because the road to Saanen follows through the long Grischbachtal (unless you choose the longer variant over the scenic Rellerligrat). Surprisingly cozy then the continuation from Saanen past Gstaad to the day's destination Feutersoey on the Col-du-Pillon pass road. It runs more or less close to the rushing Saane, but also includes some hard-surfaced sections. In between, the neat, traffic-free village centers of Saanen and Gstaad invite you to stroll and refresh yourself. Remarkably: Since Erlach and after five long hiking days, we are back in the (huge) canton of Bern.

Author´s Tip / Recommendation of the author

The 4-hour hike around the "inhospitable" Gastlosen from Musersbergli is magnificent. Massive rock walls and a rich flora dominate.

Safety guidelines

A moderately easy hike on marked hiking trails. Surefootedness required. Difficulty: T2.
