On the Panoramaweg Elsigenalp - Frutigen

At the starting point of the hike at the mountain station of the cable car, the destination Frutigen is noted. The addition "Panoramaweg" promises a scenic route. At the beginning, a short steep section on the road downhill has to be covered. Wide and side walls suggest that a ski slope runs through here in winter. Soon, one branches off onto a footpath that runs with some ups and downs under a rock face of the Elsighorn. The forest provides shade. Climbers indulge in their hobby here. After the forest, you reach the stretch that deserves the name panoramic hiking route. On the left, the peaks of the Niesen chain can be seen. After Obere Achsetberg, red-white-red painted posts mark the path, alternating over pastures and through forest. Down towards the valley, you can see Frutigen, the Justi valley, the Sigriswiler ridge, and the Niederhorn. The path now descends more steeply. At the farm Truten, you turn left and continue descending over pastures and through forest. At a hairpin bend, there is a bench that offers a view of Kandergrund. Above Reinisch, you reach a road. At the Reinisch schoolhouse, it goes towards the village of Frutigen. Here, the view opens to the upper Kander valley. After Büelen, the final descent through forest follows. Finally, a short section runs along the Entschlige and a children's playground to the destination at Frutigen station.
