The section Merligen - Amsoldingen is part of the Berner Oberländer Trail, which will take us from Brünig to Amsoldingen. We are on the Swiss Pilgrimage Routes.

Today's stage will lead us over a distance of 17.0 km with an estimated walking time of around 5.0 hours from Merligen to Amsoldingen. We can expect a moderate daily leg. We start the hike at the pier in Merligen and cross Lake Thun by boat to Spiez. We follow the signposted paths and arrive in Einigen after about 9.5 km. The route today leads us over asphalt and natural paths. We cross the Kander on the Strättlig bridge and turn left at Gwattegg to cross the motorway. After about 13.0 km, we reach Zwieselberg and shortly after, at 665 m elevation, the highest point of the day’s stage. The path continues through the Riederwald forest and we arrive in Amsoldingen.

Today we pass the following sights: Spiez Castle, Einigen Church, Amsoldingen Pillar Basilica

There is the option to choose a route via Thun as an alternative to the original route.
