Already the journey into the wild and romantic Reichenbach Valley is an experience. Suddenly, the imposing figure of the small Wellhorn appears, next to it the rugged Rosenlaui Glacier, the rock towers of the Engelhörner as well as green alpine pastures. A visit to the Rosenlaui Gorge is worthwhile: on a well-secured path, you come across powerful waterfalls and special rock polished surfaces.

From Hotel Rosenlaui, it goes briefly uphill to the entrance of the glacier gorge. After passing through the gorge (or alternatively bypassing it on the right), just after the exit, a bridge leads gently uphill (shortly before the hiking trail enters the forest) to a kind of small plateau, a beautiful spot for a picnic. Through the forest uphill, you quickly gain altitude, with a view opening up to the torn and impressive Rosenlaui Glacier. At the crossroads P.1683, the white-blue-white marked alpine hiking trail to the Dossen Hut branches off to the right. We continue left on the narrow path. This now leads over smooth and steep rocks, sure-footedness is required here. In a wide right curve, it goes around the Rosenlauistock and continues under the spur of the Ochsen valley to the cozy and nicely situated Engelhorn Hut. From the hut, a path leads down to the Graagistein and then on an alpine road to the Gross-Rychenbach alpine huts. On a road, it goes downhill to the bridge at Gschwantenmad. Before the bridge, we keep left and thus reach Hotel Rosenlaui.
