The starting point of the two-hour winter circular hike is the municipal square (parking lot) or the bus stop Aeschi Post. The path leads the first 250 m along Mülenenstrasse, past the indoor swimming pool, slightly downhill, and then turns left into Suldhaltenstrasse. Following the little road, always with a view of the impressive Niesen pyramid, the winter trail branches off to the left after about one kilometer, ascending. After Sandgruben follows the only short steep section until you reach the scenic Sewenegg. The view stretches far into the Kander and Engstligen valleys. Between the cross-country ski trail (please do not enter) and the forest edge, the path leads to Aeschiried, where there is the option to take an additional loop into Schitmatti. Passing to the right of the Aeschiried schoolhouse, the winter hiking trail descends northwestward and opens up views of Lake Thun and far into the Mittelland. Across open fields, you reach the houses of Tannenmattli and follow Zwygartenstrasse further over the Spittel down towards the village of Aeschi. The last 400 m run along Alleestrasse before returning to the starting point after about two hours.
