The starting point of the snowshoe route, the Wiriehorn mountain station, can be easily reached with the 6-seat chairlift of the Wiriehornbahn. The path is marked from here, but you make the trail yourself with your snowshoes. The cool winter air and the deeply snow-covered alpine meadows and forests convey inner calm and distance from the hectic everyday life. Throughout the entire ascent, you have a magnificent view of the Wiriehorn, the Niedersimmental, the Stockhorn, and the Niesen range.

Directions
Follow the snowshoe route from the Wiriehorn mountain station (Nüegg) gently ascending towards Alp Schwarzenberg. The path leads over the terrain ridge with a moderate incline to Tubefärich. Throughout the entire ascent, you have stunning views of the surrounding mountain peaks before you reach the turning point of your hike. The descent route follows along the forest edge up to the Oberi Heitere height and further to the terrain saddle above the Nüegg mountain station. A short descent and the mountain station and Berghotel Wiriehorn are reached. The path is marked with pink directional signs and snowshoe symbols.

Directions & Parking facilities
Highway A6 Bern towards Zweisimmen, turn left 1 km after the Simmenfluhtunnel towards Diemtigtal. Follow the Diemtigtalstrasse valley inward for 11 km to the Wiriehorn valley station. From here, the Wiriehorn chairlift takes you up to the Nüegg mountain station (check operating hours: www.wiriehorn.ch).
At the Wiriehorn valley station, you will find paid parking spaces
By train to Oey-Diemtigen station (Spiez-Zweisimmen line). Then continue by post bus to the stop "Riedli, Wiriehorn valley station." From here, the Wiriehorn chairlift takes you up to the Nüegg mountain station (check operating hours: www.wiriehorn.ch).
