Treasure hunt at Thun Castle

Bring your ingenuity and instinct as you follow hidden clues and solve some fiendish riddles with your family amid the medieval ambience of Thun Castle. Will you crack the code on the treasure chest?

City Tour "Unknown Thun"

Discover the little-known side of Thun on a short tour of the old town, where you will encounter some unfamiliar and obscure stories. Our Thun city guides will amaze you with surprising tales of the unexpected.

Swim the Aare

What could be more refreshing than a dip in the cool waters of the Aare? Enjoy the experience in the company of a seasoned lifeguard and learn how to swim the Aare safely.

  • Behind the Rathaus (town hall)

Weekly market

Crispy salads, cheese, sausages, fresh flowers and all manner of hand-made goods – at the weekly market in the heart of Thun, you will find exactly what you are looking for. Enjoy the hustle and bustle, and the enchanting scents and colours.

Trampelwurm tour on late opening days

After shopping, why not have another ride around town aboard the Trampelwurm? During the summer holiday period, Thun’s famous cycle-train makes regular rounds of the town centre. Hop aboard and enjoy the ride – and keep cycling!

The Little Ghost at Thun Castle

The knights’ hall now presents a special experience: summer cinema for children, featuring The Little Ghost. Spooky holiday fun awaits families in these unique surroundings.

Yoga by the lake

Mountain biking tours

The Thun region has everything a cyclist could wish for. In the company of a local guide, discover simple, winding single tracks and more varied routes filled with superb views. Tours are suitable for amateur and casual bikers.

Ride the big wheel to dizzy heights

From Friday 16th July to Sunday 15th August, the large and colourful Ferris wheel returns to Mühleplatz. As darkness falls, ride the big wheel to dizzy heights – and be enchanted by the colours and lights of Thun.
