An ideal family hike

From the Tschentenalp mountain station, the signage leads us towards Schermtanne away from the ridge to a crossing over to the south side of Schwandfälspitz. Alternatively, you can also go over the small “summit” of Schwandfälspitz – from there you have a beautiful view of the Gsür behind it with its distinctive, groove-marked flank.

Through numerous switchbacks, we quickly lose altitude. After Alp Blachti, the descent now partially runs in the shade in the forest. At Schermtanne P.1482 we finally meet the road coming from Adelboden – the Schermtanne restaurant with its beautiful sun terrace is only a minute to the right on the other side of the Stigelbach.

Along the Stigelbach, it continues downhill to the large wooden bridge at Allebach and the crossroads at P.1416. Along the Allebach and past the Rossweid rest area, one reaches the large bridge at Rehärtli. Here is also the Adventure Park Adelboden, where thrill-seekers slide across the Allebach on long zip lines. We follow the stream further to Steinigi Brügg, where we follow the road upwards on the other side, past the outdoor swimming pool, and then reach the center of Adelboden.
