- Start: Stechelberg
- Destination: Stechelberg
First, we ascend on the left side of the Lütschine to Sichellauenen, then follow the path on the right of the Lütschine to the Trachsellauenen inn. In this area, silver, lead, and iron were mined for a short time in the 17th century. The foundations of the former mine were restored in 1994 by the archaeological service and can be viewed on the way past. At the mine junction, we follow the signs to the Schiirboden alpine hut and then to the Holdrifalls. Shortly after Schiirboden, the path to the waterfalls branches off to the right in the middle of an alpine pasture. The short detour of around 200 meters to the waterfalls is worthwhile. A bench on a beautiful meadow by the falls invites you to a picnic break. Numerous cowslips and the poisonous white hellebore grow around the waterfalls.
We return to the junction at the alpine pasture and choose the path uphill to the Läger alpine hut. With gentle ups and downs, continue via Schmadribach to the White Lütschine. On the opposite side of the stream, at the crossroad “Valley” (P.1522), turn right. A short steep ascent leads to the Wildi Egg intersection. Here we choose the destination Obersteinberg. The cozy inn welcomes us after a beautiful ascent through wonderful forest and lovely alpine meadows.
For the return, we follow the high path northwards to the Tschingelhorn inn near Folla. Straight ahead, it then steadily goes downhill through the Schwendiwald, following the signs to Stechelberg, back to the starting point of the circular route.
