The Diemtigtal Nature Park is the only one of four nature parks located entirely within the Canton of Bern – Gantrisch, Chasseral, and Doubs are cross-cantonal nature parks. The promotion of regional nature parks is an important tool for the sustainable development of rural regions and mountain areas. The beautiful circular hike at the valley end offers a wonderful insight into the largely intact and charming landscape of the Diemtigtal Nature Park.

From the bus stop or the large parking lot, follow the signs towards Grimmifurggi. Part of the way is accompanied by the play posts of the themed trail about the dwarf Grimmimutz. At the trail junction P.1409 we leave Grimmimutz – while the themed trail branches off to the left, we continue straight ahead and hike along the alp road up to the beautifully located Alp Grimmi (P.1739). The hiking path marked on the national map from P.1509 is no longer signposted and hardly passable. At Alp Grimmi, a rest on the lovely sun terrace is very tempting. The path gently continues uphill on a hiking trail to a trail junction slightly behind (south of) the summit P.1844. Here we leave the trail to Grimmifurgge and turn left following the sign towards Uelis Grimmi. On an almost level high trail, you hike with scenic views in a large left-hand arc through the pretty high moor Grimmi. Among other things, many white hellebore grow here, a beautiful but highly poisonous plant.

At P.1808 we pass the alpine hut Uelis Grimmi and soon arrive at the trail junction P.1776. Here we turn left. About 20 minutes later we reach an alp road, along which we hike – passing the ski and holiday house Nidegg – back to the starting point at the Eggli and Spillgerten restaurants.
