Away from the heavy traffic and tourist flows, you can hike magnificently in an untouched natural environment: Griesalp has been awarded the label "Pure Nature" by Switzerland Tourism. Almost entirely natural surfaces.

Kiental is both the name of the side valley and the village located within it. The ride by post bus is already an attraction, as the Kiental-Griesalp section with a 28% incline is the steepest mountain post bus route in Europe. At the starting point of the hike, follow the path towards Chüegwindli Chistihubel. After a short stretch on a road, turn right to reach Mittelberg via a path through forest and pasture. Shortly after, turn left and ascend through pastures to the Alp Chüegwindli. With the necessary attention, you will find the route marked with red-white-red markings on the terrain, as the path is sometimes hardly visible. After Chüegwindli, the route continues to ascend through pastures and along streams. At the latest here, the warning sign shortly after Griesalp becomes understandable, indicating that crossing the wild streams during snowmelt and rainy weather is difficult or even impossible. On the ridge, it is worthwhile to go up to the highest point, Chistihubel, and enjoy the view into Kiental, of the Gspaltenhorn and the Blüemlisalp. For the descent, shortly after the gate passage, cross the pasture to the alpine hut at Pt. 2096, orienting yourself again by the mountain trail markings on stones or painted posts. The following section to Obere Dünden runs along a road. Briefly upwards through pastures, followed by the descent via Oberi Bundalp to Griesalp. The final section, signposted as a hiking trail, leads back through forest to Griesalp.
