During the Ringweg walk, you learn about one of the most interesting chapters of Upperländer history.

Along the way you will find eight information panels about the von Rappard family and the art of Clara von Rappard.

Along the route, you will repeatedly have beautiful viewpoints towards Lake Thun, Interlaken, Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau.

The circular hike on the theme of the von Rappard family is a joint project of the municipality of Matten, the "Clara von Rappard" society, and the Interlaken Art Society.

From the Hotel Regina bus stop, you go uphill via Hubelweg to the Ringweg. With slight ups and downs around the Kleiner Rugen, back to the Hotel Regina bus stop.

Getting there

Leave the Interlaken West motorway exit and drive for 5 min towards Interlaken via Därligstrasse, Waldeggstrasse, Wychelstrasse, turn off before Hotel Sonne to the parking lot at Tellweg near the ice rink/Tell games.

Walk about 5–8 min to the starting point.

Public transportation

By train to Interlaken West, change to bus no. 104 towards Interlaken Ost. Get off at the Hotel Regina bus stop. Or from Interlaken Ost with bus 104 towards Unterseen to the Hotel Regina stop.
